Through customized Torah classes, uplifting events, and heartfelt one-on-one visits, Rabbi Bodkins has become a beacon of hope. But his most recent initiative may be his most impactful yet:
The Shabbos Package Program – Bringing Shabbos to Those Who Thought It Was Lost
Also known as the “Shabbox” initiative, this program delivers beautifully curated Shabbat packages to isolated seniors. Each Shabbox includes:
- A Kiddush cup
- Two electric Shabbos candles
- A challah cover
- A single rose
- A thoughtfully written guidebook that gently helps turn Friday into Shabbos Kodesh
The guidebook invites seniors to rediscover the serenity and sanctity of Shabbos—often inspiring them to observe it again for the first time in years. These seniors feel uplifted, reconnected, and seen.
